Designated Broker over 37 years’ experience

I have had a dynamic career in real estate spanning several decades. Graduating in 1984 with a B.A. in finance from Seattle Pacific University, I embarked on my on my real estate journey. As a junior in college, I started working with a professor specializing in real estate investment. I managed seven apartment buildings and rooming houses in the University of Washington and Eastlake areas of Seattle. I quickly gained practical experience in negotiating leases and any tenant problems that arose. I then went on to managing luxury apartments in the Westlake are with tenants such as Gary Payton from the Supersonics, Darren McGavin from the Night Stalker series and other actors and athletes.

In 1986, I obtained my real estate license and began working for MacPherson's Realty selling properties in the UW, Greenlake and Ballard areas of Seattle, marking the start of my real estate sales career.

In 1994, I left the city and relocated from Seattle to my family lands in Quilcene, where I continued my successful real estate journey. In 2011, I took their expertise to the next level by founding Munn Bro's Hood Canal Properties, partnering with my brother Bruce.

My commitment to excellence and deep-rooted passion for real estate have defined  my professional journey. I love selling real estate and guiding people to their perfect home or home site.

I started my career in real estate in 1995 working for Johnston Realty, then moving on to Windermere in Quilcene – which gives me over 20 year of local experience. Jim and I jumped into business for ourselves as Munn Bro's Hood Canal Real Estate in 2010.

My particular area of expertise is working with raw land and development, including managing septic design and installations, and performing inspections for home construction.

I am also a notary and able to help out with any paperwork, which may be needed during the process of construction.

When I'm not at work you may often find me boating and enjoying the Pacific Northwest outdoors.

Kalan Wolfe Hatton - Broker

Kalan Wolfe Hatton is the newest member of the Munn Brother's team. Transitioning into the real estate business was a natural progression. His passion for networking within his community and helping people find a good deal on their perfect home has been something he has been doing for many years. Kalan is a handyman and carpenter and has built properties from the ground up. This has given him experience and understanding of what it takes to develop raw land and transform it into your dream home.

Kalan and his wife Keely are professional musicians and event organizers. They live with their children in Quilcene and have a great love for the outdoors. In their free time they can be found writing songs around a campfire, hunting for mushrooms in the foothills of the Olympics, fishing in the Salish Sea, or gardening in their own backyard.

Our Family History

Hector John Munn

For generations, the Munn Clan has called the Hood Canal and Jefferson County area home.

Hector John Munn wrote 3 books on the story of their family’s origins in the Quilcene area.

He used various family documents, and family stories as primary sources in his research.

In fact, the family still own 130 acres of the land by Lake Leland once owned by Jim and Ana Munn (Bruce and Jim’s Great-Grandparents.

Our Great Grandfather James Hector Munn settled in the South Jefferson County area in 1887. Among other businesses he started the Interurban Telephone Company that connected Leland, Pt Ludlow, Gardiner & Brinnon.

Our Grandfather Hector John Munn was a “powder monkey” that helped build many of the roads within the National Forest for the Buck Mountain Logging Company.
